Up to 600 staff will lose their jobs at roadside restaurant Little Chef after the chain announced it was closing 67 of its 161 sites across the country.
The sites earmarked for closure have been trading unprofitably for a number of years due to "a variety of economic and locational factors", the company said, but remaining sites are all trading profitably.
Between 500 and 600 full and part-time roles will be axed, leaving a workforce of around 1,500.
