Pete Doherty has confirmed reports he is a new dad.
Pete hit the headlines earlier this week after South African model Lindi Hingston claimed she had given birth to his daughter, Aisling, on Boxing Day last year.
Fans were baffled by the baby reports since Lindi successfully sued the News of the World in 2007 for linking the pair, claiming she had only met Pete once and "never had physical relations" with him.
However, the Babyshambles frontman has now come clean and confessed to fathering the little girl, although he admits he was surprised that Lindi went public with the news.
He tells The Independent: "I'm really surprised she's done that [talked to a newspaper]."
The rocker, who has an eight-year-old son, Astile, with singer Lisa Moorish, also reveals he wanted to be in Cape Town to welcome his second child.
He adds: "The little girl was two months premature. I said I'd try to be there for the birth... Yeah, she's mine."
