Robert Pattinson Defies US Journalist's Query Into His Welfare Over Cheating Scandal With Kristen Stewart

R-Patz Is Only Interested in One Thing Right Now...

Actor Robert Pattinson shamed a US journalist for prying into his tumultuous personal life on Wednesday, insisting he only gives interviews to promote his films.

Robert Pattinson is being carefully quiet about anything other than his latest film Cosmopolis

The British hunk was left heartbroken last month when his Twilight co-star and girlfriend Kristen Stewart confessed to an "indiscretion" with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

The revelation appears to have ended the young couple's three-year romance, but Pattinson refused to let the heartache interfere with his promotional duties and on Monday he appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, accepting a pint of ice cream from the host in order to drown his sorrows.

On Wednesday, Good Morning America anchor George Stephanopoulos copied Stewart's tactic and tried to butter up the 26 year old with a box of his favourite cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, before turning to the scandal.

He said, "I've got to get the elephant in the room out of the way, everybody wants to know how are you doing and what do you want your fans to know about what's going on in your personal life?"

But Pattinson refused to bite, telling Stephanopoulos, "I'd like my fans to know that Cinnamon Toast Crunch only has 30 calories a bowl... I don't know, pretty much everything that comes out of my mouth is irrelevant."

When the journalist continued to press the issue, the actor again dodged the subject and redirected the conversation to his new movie Cosmopolis.

He added, "You go into it (showbusiness) to do movies, I've never been interested in trying to sell my personal life, and that's really the only reason people bring it up. The reason you go on TV is to promote movies."
