Former X Factor winner Joe McElderry has revealed he is no longer in touch with former boss Simon Cowell.
Joe - who won the sixth series of the show in 2010 and was dropped by Simon's label Syco in 2011- admitted he and the music mogul were never friends.
Asked about his relationship with Simon, Joe said: "I wouldn't say he was a friend, he never was my friend.
"We were in a business together and that's the way it worked," he added. "He's not someone I would want to be friends with. I wouldn't want to go on a night out with him. If I met him at a party, we'd have a nice chat."
Aww! At least there are no hard feelings, eh?
Joe - who is now signed to Universal after impressing bosses with his performance on Popstar To Operastar - was left out of a recent ad campaign to promote the new series of The X Factor, which featured many of the show's former stars.
But the 21-year-old insisted he was not bothered about being cut out of the show's history.
"I've got a new album out and I don't need that advert to tell me whether I'm doing well or not," Joe said.
"If people want to follow my career they can see what I'm doing without that advert."
He added: "I didn't expect to be in it - I'm signed to Universal and everyone in it is signed to Sony. It's a business and they don't want to promote someone they're not going to make money from."
Despite cutting ties with The X Factor, Joe did, however, reveal that he is still in touch with his former mentor Cheryl Cole, and will be supporting her when she begins her first solo tour next month.
"We text each other quite a bit," he revealed. "I haven't spoken to her in a while but she's very well. She's going on tour and I'm definitely going to go along."
Joe's new album, Here's What I Believe, is out now.
