UPDATE: Nasa has admitted the photo was not of Everest, but another mountain.
Nasa might have captured a picture of the oldest galaxy above our heads - but Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko has an equally amazing picture taken looking in precisely the other direction.
Malenchenko took this photo of Mount Everest, the highest point of Earth, from the International Space Station.
From his position 230 miles above the Earth he capture the mountain on a clear day, casting shadows down onto the rest of the Himalayas.

The picture was taken on 9 November but posted this week by Nasa astronaut Ron Garan:
Malenchenko returned to Earth from his mission on 18 November.
