The estranged wife of disabled stuntman Eddie Kidd has been accused of domestic abuse.
Samantha Kidd has been charged with six counts of assault by beating between July and October this year.
The unemployed 44-year-old has been bailed with strict instructions not to contact Eddie, who was left paralysed and brain damaged after a motorcycle stunt went wrong in 1996.
Eddie and Samantha Kidd tied the knot five years ago
Samantha, a former dancer, will appear before Brighton Magistrates Court on January 9, 2013.
A police spokesperson said: "Sussex Police takes all allegations of domestic abuse seriously and encourages people to have the confidence to report, whether by those who are being afflicted or others who have concerns.
"We will work with partners to provide support and always seek the best solution for victims, bringing appropriate offences to court."
Samantha became Eddie's third wife five years ago. There have been reports that the couple's marriage was in trouble after Kidd left the marital home in Seaford, East Sussex. He is said to have changed his Facebook relationship status from "married" to "single", The Daily Mail said.
Eddie, 53, is a former James Bond stuntman and collected an OBE at Buckingham Palace in October. He also completed last year's London Marathon in 50 days.
