KT Tunstall is set to release her much-anticipated fourth studio album and, in the words of one of her hit songs, it seems she has indeed headed for the other side of the world for some fresh inspiration.
The Scottish songstress, who hit the big time with her tunes The Other Side of the World and Suddenly I See, is seen in her video teaser for the new album relaxing and driving around the desert in Tucson, Arizona - where she recorded the album, and where she is pictured among the cacti in the desert.
There are some tantalising twangs from the new album 'Invisible Empire/Crescent Moon', hinting at a more country folk sound from the multi platinum-selling singer.
Tunstall recently separated from her husband of four years, drummer Luke Bullen, and lost her father last year, new personal circumstances she hints at in the trailer... "So much has changed. I've followed my path and ended up in a different place" and describes the album as "full of songs from the heart".
Tunstall sold more than 4 million copies of her debut album Eye To The Telescope in 2005, which she followed with the critically praised 'Drastic Fantastic' and 'Tiger Suit' in 2007 and 2010.
To co-incide with the album announcement, KT is also announcing a string of solo live dates in June. Tickets go on general sale Friday 22 March, with pre-sale for Leeds and Glasgow shows going live on Ticketmaster today. Dates are as follows:
