It may not have been the grandest of starts but this 20-second clip of a young man at San Francisco Zoo marks the beginnings of internet behemoth, YouTube.
The video, called 'Me at the Zoo', was the very first clip to ever be uploaded to the site exactly eight years ago today.
That awkward looking young man talking about elephant's "cool" trunks is Jawed Karim, co-founder of YouTube.

The idea was so successful the site was bought by Google for $1.65 billion just 19 months later.
