Simpsons' 'The Homer' Car Built For Real (VIDEO)

Somebody Actually Built 'The Homer'

Somebody has built the car designed - disastrously - by Homer Simpson.

The vehicle features a separate compartment for children passengers, a very large hooter and integrated soda containers.

It will make its debut at the Lemons 24 hours race in California on 29 June - an endurance race for terrible, cheap or hideous cars.

The car made its appearance in the Simpsons series 2 episode 'Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?', with the immortal sales pitch "power like a gorilla, yet soft and yielding like a nerf ball".

Homer designed it after his taller, slimmer, estranged borther turns out to be the head of Powell Motors in Detroit. Homer gets the chance to design a vehicle, but after initial timidity comes up with a monstrous concept which costs $82k and is hideously ugly.
