A British woman has been killed in Bangladesh in what her family has described as a violent robbery.
The Foreign Office confirmed the death of Rehana Begum, in the north-east of the country. The 43-year-old from Stepney, east London, is believed to have been on holiday there with her husband and 12-year-old son.
An FCO spokesman said: "We are aware of the death of a British national, Rehana Begum, in Sunamganj, Bangladesh on 2 August. We are providing consular assistance to her family at this difficult time."
