Scotland goalkeepers have a tendency for the comedic and the calamitous and that trend continued with the Under-21's Jordan Archer, whose sliced clearance assisted England striker Connor Wickham in a 6-0 rout at Bramall Lane.
Tottenham 'keeper Archer, aiming to clear his drop kick somewhere beyond the halfway line, instead executed a horrible mis-kick to allow Wickham to make it 3-0.
Admittedly, the Sunderland striker's finish is a difficult one and his adroit first-time volley is technically excellent, but it could not spare Archer's blushes.

With senior manager Roy Hodgson coaching the juniors following Stuart Pearce's sacking, Nathan Redmond, Raheem Sterling, Ross Barkley, Jonjo Shelvey and Tom Carroll also scored in the thrashing.
"It was a chastening experience," Scotland coach Billy Stark admitted.
