Arsenal have signed German midfielder Mesut Özil from Real Madrid for a club record £42.4 million.
Arsène Wenger finally got his man after failing to land previous big name signings throughout the summer.
Özil, 24, is a more than a welcome addition to the Arsenal midfield. He started started his career at his hometown club Schalke, then moved onto Werder Bremen in 2008, then signed for Real Madrid in August of 2010.

In an interview after the Arsenal match on Sunday, Wenger said: 'You will see what we will announce to you. If we sign somebody I promise we will be very quick to announce it, maybe we will have a good surprise for you'.
It is thought that French club PSG also tabled a bid for the West German born midfielder but he chose the north London club over their European rivals.
Arsenal have also smashed their transfer record perviously set when they bought Santi Cazorla for £16mn in 2012.
