'Educating Yorkshire' Review: What Is So Enticing About Seeing Our Schooldays Revisited On The Small Screen?

REVIEW: Educating Yorkshire - The Delight Of Schooldays Revisited

Nearly three million viewers tuned in for last night's sequel to 'Educating Essex', this time with a burrow into the school system of Yorkshire, namely Thornhill Community Academy near Dewsbury.

Once again, this BAFTA Award-winning series proved that there is something inherently delightful in fixing a camera to the wall of corridors we have all walked, and simply replaying the results, as bemused teachers deal with hormonal, wise-beyond-their-years teenagers, all in evident need of guidance and a pat on the shoulder, whatever they might have us believe.

This series' champion - headteacher Mr Mitchell, a paragon of a man, dealing with everything from strangely-painted eyebrows, to the more serious challenges of potential racial abuse.

These teachers are heroes, with the children pretty endearing as well, to their collective horror, I'm sure.
