Comet ISON may be dead, but the journey isn't over. First, there is still an enormous amount of important science to be done with the data gleamed from its dramatic dive into the Sun last week. Second, there are also some really awesome pictures and videos still to be published.
Nasa's latest has a good claim to be one of the most dramatic. Data from the Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory and the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory has been captured showing the full path of the comet as it plunged into the Sun, briefly emerged from the other side and then disintegrated.
