It’s Blue Monday – supposedly the most depressing day of the year.
While the basis of this claim is dubious (in fact, its just a gimmick by a travel company aiming to nudge you into booking a winter blues-alleviating holiday), it’s still looking pretty crappy out there in old Blighty.
So unless a holiday is on the cards, let’s sit back and pretend we’re somewhere else.
Somewhere warm and magical… somewhere like Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives, for instance.
These stunning photos show a brilliant blue glow known as bioluminescence, which is the product of marine microbes called phytoplankton.
To us, it simply looks like heaven. Yes, yes and thrice yes.
