Courteney Cox has announced some exciting news, as she and musician boyfriend Johnny McDaid have revealed that they are tying the knot.
The former ‘Friends’ star and ‘Cougar Town’ actress broke the news simultaneously with her new fiancé on their respective Twitter pages, both uploading the same loved-up selfie and each excitedly tweeting “I’m engaged to her!” and “I’m engaged to him!”
Courteney has been dating the Northern Irish star, who plays piano, guitar and contributes backing vocals for the chart-topping group Snow Patrol, since late 2013, after they were introduced by a pretty unlikely mutual friend, Ed Sheeran.
Ed recently spoke about the loved up pair in an interview with The Mirror, saying: “I'm not sure that it's public knowledge, so maybe I shouldn't have said anything - but, yes, they're already living together.
"Things are moving fast. He moved in and judging by the last time I saw them, they couldn't be happier."
Courteney and Johnny
The announcement of Courteney and Johnny’s engagement comes just weeks after she celebrated her 50th birthday, which the happy couple marked with a trip to Turks and Caicos.
Her ‘Cougar Town’ co-star Busy Phillips was quick to congratulate the pair, writing on her Twitter page: “Congratulations to my beautiful friend @CourteneyCox & her FIANCÉ Johnny McDaid!!!! Yay!!!!!!”
Courteney was previously married to actor David Arquette, from whom she filed for divorce in 2012 after 13 years of marriage. Together they have one daughter, Coco, who was born in 2004.
