Ant and Dec have revealed that they want to write a sitcom together, but admit that it could be a long way off because they’re so busy with other projects.
The Geordie duo first found fame starring in the CBBC drama ‘Byker Grove’, before going on to have a lucrative career in presenting, but they’ve now said that returning to their acting roots is something they’re keen to do.

Ant explained to Digital Spy: “We've talked about it. We'd love to do a sitcom. Or some kind of comedy drama.”
"We're so busy at the moment with the three shows, ‘I'm a Celeb’, ‘BGT’ and ‘Takeaway’. With our ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ tour coming up as well, there's been no way we could fit it in. But if things slow down a bit in the next few years and we wouldn't tour again next year, it may happen then.”
In addition to their impressive presenting credentials, the pair - who are about to celebrate 25 years in showbiz - previously starred in a one-off remake of ‘Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads?’ and made their feature film debut in sci-fi comedy ‘Alien Autopsy’ opposite Jimmy Carr and Omid Djalili.
And let’s not forget about the boys’ impressive singing career, having topped the charts just last year with their emotionally-charged anthem ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble’.
Their ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ arena tour kicks off this summer.
