Ricky Gervais has confirmed plans to reprise his David Brent character for a feature-length film, ‘Life On The Road’.
The new film will be shot in a mockumentary style, like several of Ricky’s past projects, and will follow David as he hits the road to travel around the UK on his self-funded tour… all while selling cleaning products on the side, of course.

‘Life On The Road’ - which is currently in development and will go into production next year - will also give viewers an insight into what David has been up to since ‘The Office’ ended in 2003.
David, Ricky’s best known comic creation, first appeared in the comedy mockumentary ‘The Office’, playing the hapless general manager of a fictional paper company, who failed to win over the respect of his colleagues, despite his best efforts.
After disappearing for almost a decade - aside from a few brief cameos in the American version of ‘The Office’ - Ricky brought the tragic character back for a comic relief sketch, ‘The Office Revisited’ last year, and later went on to make him the star of a web series on YouTube, ‘Learn Guitar with David Brent’.
He also appeared on the charity song ‘Equality Street’, alongside rapper Doc Brown.
Ricky has previously spoken about his desire to bring back his anti-hero character, telling reporters earlier this year: “I’m thinking of doing a sort of behind-the-scenes special. He thinks it's Scorsese does The Rolling Stones, but you'll see the tragedy of David Brent - he has to take holiday from his repping job to do it.”
