One Direction have announced plans to release their fourth studio album, the imaginatively titled ‘FOUR’.
We can only imagine the lengthy meeting and frantic head-scratching that went into coming up with that album name. We wonder if that’s also the number of seconds it took to come up with it? Still, we admire the enthusiastic capital letters.
The group have also teased Directioners with a free download of a new track, ‘Fireproof’, if they pre-order the album - which is currently scheduled for release on 17 November - in the next 24 hours.
The track was co-penned by band members Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, in addition to John Ryan, Jamie Scott and Julian Bunetta, who previously helped write One Direction’s number two ballad, ‘Story of my Life’.

1D have also unveiled the album artwork which shows a lot of denim, and a certain Mr Styles looking like he’s been caught off guard.
Needless to say, the boyband’s hardcore fanbase haven’t wasted any time, and have already been hard at work, getting #Fireproof and #OneDirectionFOUR trending on Twitter.
One Direction
‘FOUR’ will act as the follow-up to the group’s third album, ‘Midnight Memories’, which was released last year and spawned the number one lead single, ‘Best Song Ever’.
One Direction first shot to fame in the 2010 series of ‘The X Factor’, where they finished in third place behind Matt Cardle and Rebecca Ferguson.
After signing to Simon Cowell’s record label, they’ve since become the biggest act on the planet, and are currently hot-footing it around the globe on their ‘Where We Are’ stadium tour.
