‘EastEnders' Spoiler: Timothy West To Leave His Role Playing Stan Carter

Timothy West To Leave 'EastEnders'

‘EastEnders’ bosses have announced that Timothy West, who plays Stan Carter, is leaving the soap.

The veteran actor arrived in Albert Square almost a year ago and he looks set to have a dramatic time in the build-up to his exit.

Timothy as Stan

Speaking to the Star on Sunday, the show’s Executive Producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins stated: “When you have an actor of Tim's calibre joining your cast, you treasure every day that you have him - and we knew from the start that Stan's stay with the rest of the Carter Family would be a finite one.

"But what a stay - and as we draw towards Stan's exit from the show, the audience should get ready as one of Britain's finest actors pulls out all the stops and gives his King Lear..."

In the coming months, viewers will see the Carter family pushed to their limits, following tonight’s episode, which sees Dean attack Linda.

There will also be two new Carter arrivals, as Stan’s ex-wife - played by Linda Marlowe - turns up, following the arrival of Linda’s mother Elaine, played by Maria Friedman.

The explosive Carter family storylines will unfold in the run-up to the soap’s 30th anniversary, which will be celebrated with a live episode in February 2015.
