It's been an amazing year for space. Yes, in a sense they all are, celestial cosmology being the extraordinarily ace thing that it is. But still. Amazing.

We've been to a comet. We launched the 'Mars ship' to space for the first time. China went to the Moon and India went to Mars. All the time humans circled Earth in the International Space Station and the stars blazed above our heads.

And of course, NASA, ESA, the European Southern Observatory and thousands of others were there to capture it all.
