Paul Weller's son Nathaniel has come out as bisexual to his 'hugely supportive' dad.
Nathaniel, 26, said he'd been nervous about telling his Modfather dad because of his 'working class hero' image.
Modfather Paul – frontman for The Jam and The Style Council – told his musician son: "People are people no matter what they are, as long as they aren't hurting anyone."
Natt – Paul's son from his nine-year marriage to singer Dee C. Lee – said he realised he was attracted to men as well as women when he was 17 but kept it quiet from his parents at first.
He told the magazine: "It got difficult because his schtick is that working-class hero thing.
"The media see him as this alpha male character, even though The Style Council was pretty homoerotic. It was kind of daunting but there was nothing to really worry about."
Natt, had previously denied he was gay after he was quizzed about his sexuality because of his striking looks, which included wearing make-up.
But he'd reply: "I don't have a girlfriend, but I get a lot of boy and girl attention. I don't mind. Real men wear make-up."
Natt said his dad began to suspect his son had feelings for other men after noticing he was very close to some of his friends, before they actually discussed it openly - admitting it was easier to broach the subject with his mum than Paul.
He added: "It was awkward sneaking people out in the morning, that's for sure!"
Paul is also dad to Natt's sister Leah, and the Modfather became a dad to twin boys John Paul and Bowie in 2012 with wife Hannah.
The 57-year-old also has a daughter, Dylan, from a brief relationship with a make-up artist called Lucy, as well as children Stevie Mac and Jesamine with Samantha Stock.
