A huge fireball was spotted over North America late in the evening of Tuesday 17 Feb. There were over 100 witnesses while NASA's own cameras were able to record the event as it passed overhead.
NASA reports that despite lighting up many of the northern states, the object was only two feet in diameter, weighing around 200kg.
Appearing in the skies at an altitude of around 60 miles, the meteor streaked across travelling at a speed of around 45,000mph.

The American Meteor Society was also able to track the object and has since recorded over 100 witnesses who have said they saw the light.
