Actor Chris Fountain has landed his first new role since 2013, scoring a part in a short film, ‘Late’.
The star was sacked from ‘Coronation Street’ after it was discovered that he had recorded raps, featuring lyrics about sexual violence, and posted them online.

Now, he will star in ‘Late’, which is being made by ‘Hollyoaks’ producer Emily Gascoyne, reports The Sun.
Chris tells the paper: “I first met Emily on the set of Bob and Rose in 2001 when we were just starting out on our TV careers.
“I am delighted to be working with her again on Late.
“It is a project I really believe in and want to bring to an audience. I’m looking forward to filming.”
Chris’s ‘Corrie’ character Tommy Duckworth departed Weatherfield in 2013, and ITV stated his contract was being terminated due to “unacceptable comments” made by the actor.
He then released a statement, which read: “I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence I have caused.
“I am deeply ashamed by the lyrics and very much regret my behaviour.”
Prior to his time on ‘Corrie’, Chris also starred in ‘Hollyoaks’, playing Justin Burton from 2003 to 2009.
