'Love Island' Crowns Its Winning Couple In Shock Final

After six weeks of sun, sea and sex, 'Love Island' has crowned its winning couple, with Max Morley and Jess Hayes winning Wednesday (15 July) night’s final.

The pair triumphed over favourites Hannah Elizabeth and Jonathan Clark in the special live show, presented by Caroline Flack.

However, after the host announced the final result, there was one last twist in relation to the £50,000 prize fund, as they were both asked if they were really on the show for love or money.

Both were given the chance to stab each other in the back and try and steal the cash for themselves, but the pair stayed loyal to each other, both choosing love.

Speaking of their win, Max said: “This girl deserves it, she is a superstar. Thank you so much everybody.”

Earlier in the show, fans saw eventual runners-up Hannah and Jonathan get engaged on their final day in the villa, when he popped the question during a wedding task.

Telling Caroline of their engagement, Hannah said: “This has been the maddest experience of my life. Coming in here, I didn’t think I’d even find a fella, let alone a fiance.

“Jon is the man of my dreams.”

The pair also addressed reports that they knew each other before they entered the ITV2 show, clarifying that they’d only previoulsy had two nights out together through mutual friends, where Jon actually ended up going home with one of Hannah’s friends.

The final also saw couple Cally Jane Beech and Luis Morrison finish in fourth place, while the show’s only two singletons Lauren Richardson and Josh Ritchie left the villa in third place.
