David appeared agitated and angry and accused Eamonn and Ruth of trying to “rubbish” him for asking about his recent bankruptcy.
Speaking to The Mirror at the Pride Of Britain Awards, Eamonn said: "He messed up the best PR opportunity he was going to get. I don't think there's anything too offensive with 'How are you?' as an opening question.
"He knew what was he was there for, I spoke to him in the break, then suddenly he didn't know what he was there for."

Eamonn added that he regarded the interview as being up there with with his infamous car crash interview with David Blaine, where the magician remained silent and refused to answer any questions.
Ruth also said that she was saddened to see the ‘How Can I Be Sure’ singer in such a state on TV, branding the interview a “rollercoaster” to get through.
When the interview first aired on 11 September, fellow ‘This Morning’ host Phillip Schofield also tweeted his shock at the interview.
“Yikes! #DavidCassidy such a shame to see him like this on @itvthismorning tough chat for @RuthieeL & @EamonnHolmes,” he wrote.
