Disney Princesses have been reimagined as hot dogs in the latest incarnation of the in-no-way-irritating trend for revamping the children's characters with various twists.
We've seen the cartoon princesses like Ariel, Jasmine and Cinderella redesigned as tattooed pin-ups, as plus-sized women, ladies with short hair and as hipster princesses.
We've seen them as real women, as old women, without makeup and with period stains.
But Anna Hezel and Gabriella Paiella, on the site Lucky Peach, have taken things to a whole new level.
Belle looks great
The artistic pair have created four princesses out of sausages, buns and a little sprinkle of magic in the form of mustard and cheese, reminding us that not all princesses are human: some are hot dogs, and that's ok.
Hezel and Paiella explained their masterpieces thus: "Disney has never created a princess who was a hot dog... Imagine if all of their princesses were hot dogs. So inspiring. Wow."
The results are indeed inspiring:
Ariel is very inspiring
This really brings out something new in Pochahontas
Rapunzel has a strong look
The quartet
Explaining their idea further, the two creators wrote:
"For better or worse, over the past few years the Internet has found itself compulsively reinventing Disney princesses to questionable ends. We’ve seen well-intentioned reimaginings that serve to comment on Disney princesses’ homogeneity, like the Disney princesses with larger waistlines. We’ve seen dubious—and horny—reimaginings, like the Disney princesses as sexy pin-up dolls (because there’s nothing like masturbating to beloved childhood characters).
"With that in mind, we put our heads together and thought about what kinds of Disney princesses would inspire us the most. And obviously we thought of hot dogs. Disney has never created a princess who was a hot dog (dumb, in our opinion). Imagine if all of their princesses were hot dogs. So inspiring. Wow."
