A Southern Rail train driver has been lauded as "heroic" after keeping frustrated commuters entertained with his "Guess The Year" quizzes on busy morning trains to London Victoria.
The driver, known only as Steve, asks questions over the PA and encourages passengers to answer using the hashtag #timetunneltrain.
According to one participant, he even sings and offers interesting facts about the trains during his announcements.
"[There was] lots of smiling going on which of course on commuter trains isn't the norm," commuter Peter Hannaford told Mashable.
Another happy commuter even tweeted Southern to ask for a copy of his shift timetable so she could adjust her commute to coincide with the morning quiz.
A spokesperson for Southern Rail said: "We are delighted that our driver has been keeping his passengers entertained. We encourage all our conductors and drivers to make announcements and keep passengers informed during their journeys when it is safe to do so."
