UK Euromillions Ticketholder Scoops £24.6 Million Jackpot

A UK EuroMillions ticketholder has scooped a £24.6 million jackpot, the second British ticket to take the top prize this year, Camelot said.

The winning player matched numbers 23, 25, 32, 37, 42 and Lucky Stars 01 and 11 to make them the sole winner of Tuesday's draw.

A National Lottery spokesman said: "This year is certainly turning out to be a lucky one for UK National Lottery players.

A UK EuroMillions ticketholder has won a £24.6 million jackpot

"Last year saw an unprecedented nine UK EuroMillions jackpot winners and this year we have already had two massive wins here and it's only February."

The latest big jackpot came a day after a couple from Peterborough were revealed as the winners of a £30m Lotto prize.

Gerry Cannings, 63, and wife Lisa, 48, matched the numbers in the 13 February draw but delayed claiming their cheque for a week because they were having their house decorated.

EuroMillions was launched in 2004. The biggest prize in UK history was £161m, won by Scottish couple Chris and Colin Weir in 2011.
