Dr Luke’s lawyer has been forced to deny reports that the producer is set to be dropped by his music label.
Following a court ruling that decided Kesha could not be freed from her contract with Dr Luke and Sony, thousands of fans spoke out in favour of the ‘Tik Tok’ singer, who previously sued Luke for sexual assault and emotional abuse. He has vehemently denied her claims.
Nevertheless, public support for Kesha has gained momentum in recent months, and despite the fact the court ruled in Sony and Dr Luke’s favour, The Wrap have claimed that Sony are preparing to terminate Luke’s contract a year early.
His lawyer Christine Lepera has denied the reports, telling Billboard: "Luke has an excellent relationship with Sony.
The Wrap’s source was quoted as saying: "The fact that this hasn't already been taken care of is confusing, especially for people in the building."
Stars who have supported Kesha include Lady Gaga and Adele, who used her first speech at last month’s Brit Awards to support the star, a move that was commended by fans, especially given the fact she’s also signed to Sony in the US.
Kelly Clarkson has also spoken out, claiming that she was blackmailed into working with the producer, while Kesha addressed her legal troubles after winning a human rights campaign award last month.
“My message today is don't be afraid to speak up against any injustice you experience,” she said. “Don't let people scare or shame you into changing the things about you that make you unique.
"We all have to fight for what is right, even if the cards are stacked against us. That's the only way that progress happens."
