Stephanie Davis Reveals Why She Took Jeremy McConnell Back, Despite Cheating Admission

Stephanie Davis has opened up about her decision to rekindle her romance with Jeremy McConnell, despite discovering that he’d slept with another girl.

Since leaving the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house last month, Stephanie and Jeremy haven’t exactly had the easiest time of it, seemingly splitting up and getting back together on multiple occasions.

When it emerged that Jeremy had gone home with a girl while Stephanie was still in the ‘CBB’ residence, it appeared the greatest love story of the 21st century was over before it had even gathered up steam, though it was later reported that they had reunited once again.

Stephanie has now admitted she doesn’t consider the flings as cheating, telling OK! magazine: “Jeremy isn't the type of bloke to sleep around. It was just a one-night stand and he did it because he knew how bad things got between us. He felt like that was the only way to draw a line under us.

“If it was any other guy I don't think I could forgive him for getting with other girls, but I know the love we have for each other is worth fighting for.”

The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress went on to explain that Jeremy’s indiscretions stemmed from his insecurities, revealing: “I've been through a few very turbulent relationships with men, which means I find it hard to trust people.

“And Jeremy lost his mum, brother and sister within 15 months of each other when he was just a teenager, so he has a real fear of people leaving him. Together it can be a toxic combination.”

Jeremy added: “My own insecurities meant I thought Steph would go out and get with other guys too. I know that's not an excuse, but...I always think people are going to leave me.

"It was a drunk mistake and it meant nothing to me.

“Part of me always thought she might come out of the house and get back together with Sam [Reece, who Stephanie was dating at the beginning of ‘CBB’]. When she came out and told me her feelings were genuine, I felt awful.”

Following weeks of speculation, Jeremy confirmed that he’d had a fling with a dancer at a club appearance in Newcastle during an interview on Irish television earlier this month.

He explained: “I went down to Newcastle, and I ended up with a girl that night. But this was before me and Steph finally got into a relationship.

“In my head, she had a boyfriend. We were going to talk when she got out, and that's the honest truth. Stephanie had her own issues, I was dealing with mine. I wanted to breathe when I got out the house.”

Since then another girl has come forward claiming to have slept with Jeremy, but the pair have now put their past behind them, and are now even discussing tying the knot.
