We thought that it would least take until the new series of ‘The X Factor’ hit our screens before rumours started swirling that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini would be back on the show, and yet here we are.
Yes, just months after it was confirmed that Cheryl was stepping down from the judging panel, it has been claimed that she simply can’t keep herself away from the show, and will be back on our screens in the autumn.
However, according to reports, she won’t be on the judging panel, and instead will be helping Simon Cowell whittle down his acts at the judges’ houses stage of the competition.
What will Sinitta say, eh?
An insider tells the Daily Star: “Both Cowell and ITV bosses are in agreement Cheryl would be the perfect person to help him pick his finalists.
During her first hiatus from the show - while still involved in a very public feud with Simon - Cheryl appeared at judges’ houses, to help Gary Barlow choose which acts he’d be putting through to live shows.
This year, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh will all be reclaiming their space on the panel, with Dermot O’Leary also taking over presenting duties once again.
They won’t be the only familiar faces back on ‘The X Factor’, though, as former judge Mel B will be sitting in during one round of auditions, as Nicole was unable to attend due to prior commitments.
