Len Goodman has revealed his picks to replace him, when he steps down from the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judging panel.
Len has served as Head Judge since the show launched in 2004, as well as appearing on its US counterpart, ‘Dancing With The Stars’.
However, earlier this month,he announced that he is quitting the show at the end of the next series, and he’s now revealed who he thinks should get his job.
Speaking to the Kent and Sussex Courier (first with the exclusive, as always), Len explains: “It would be nice if Anton [Du Beke] or Karen Hardy took over... someone from the world of ballroom rather than stage or theatre dancing.”
He continues: “I am doing one last series – it will be my swan song – one more Strictly and then I will see what happens.
Since the news of Len’s forthcoming departure, the rumour mill has been in full swing, with reports suggesting that ‘Strictly’ pros Anton Du Beke and Brendan Cole are both eyeing the spot on the panel.
Former judge Arlene Phillips has also thrown her hat into the ring, admitting she’d love to return to the show if she were axed.
Before any of that, though, there’s this year’s series to get out of the way, with rumoured contestants including TV presenter Laura Whitmore, ITV daytime’s Judge Rinder and former Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker.
