Fresh from his controversial appearance at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio, gymnast Louis Smith has sparked speculation he’s to appear on the new series of ‘I’m A Celebrity’.
After bagging a silver medal at this year’s games, he told The Sun that he had a new TV project “in the pipeline”, adding to reporters: “I have got a meeting when I get back about a potential show. You guys will probably have a field day with it.”
When quizzed about whether this meant a stint in the jungle, Louis said simply: “I can neither confirm or deny anything you say. Like I say, wait and see.”
Louis made headlines following this year’s Pommel Horse event, when he was accused of being unsportsmanlike to fellow Team GB member and gold medallist Max Whitlock.
In response to claims that he snubbed Max and had muttered that the result was “bullshit” under his breath, he later clarified on Twitter: “I hugged both [Max and Scott] after this routine and told him how proud I was of him. Just because it wasn’t shown on camera doesn’t mean I didn’t show my respect. Ask max yourself then apologise.”
Louis is no stranger to reality TV, having already taken home the Glitterball trophy on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, and appeared as a judge on the celebrity gymnastics show, ‘Tumble’, eventually going on to date competitor Lucy Mecklenburgh for a short while.
