Long-serving ‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh has hit out at rival show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, branding it “boring”.
Sigh. Go on then, let’s see what he’s got to say.
In the run-up to both ‘Strictly’ and ‘X Factor’, Louis has compared the BBC’s TV juggernaut to the talent contest that lost in the ratings battle to ‘Countryfile’ twice last year, telling The Sun: “Listen, I watched ‘Strictly’ last year. I found it boring.
Louis, listen. We like you, and we’re gonna let you finish… but “no one talks about ‘Strictly’”? For real?
The most recent series of ‘The X Factor’ was met with a string of issues from the off, beginning with a lukewarm reception to new judges Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw, as well as presenting duo Caroline Flack and Olly Murs.
‘X Factor’ also lost out to ‘Strictly’ in the ratings battle week after week, while eventual champion Louisa Johnson’s song ‘Forever Young’ was the lowest-charting winner’s single in the show’s history.
Clearly sensing something had to be done, Simon Cowell has brought back former judges Louis, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger for the upcoming series, as well as host Dermot O’Leary.
‘X Factor’ will be back on 27 August, while ‘Strictly’ launches a week later.
