Sarah Harding Pulls Out Of 'Ghost The Musical' Due To Illness, Following Negative Reviews

She'll miss a number of shows due to a respiratory tract infection.

Sarah Harding has pulled out of her role in ‘Ghost The Musical due to illness, just days after receiving less-than-glowing reviews for her performance.

The former Girls Aloud singer will miss a currently unconfirmed number of shows at London’s New Wimbledon Theatre, after being diagnosed with an upper respiratory tract infection.

Sarah had taken on the role of Molly Jensen, which was made famous by Demi Moore in the 1990 film, but was savaged by fans and critics when audio footage of her singing ‘Unchained Melody’ and ‘Hold On’ emerged online.

Her spokesperson has now confirmed (via The Mirror) that she will take some time out from the show to recover, claiming she had been pushing herself to the limits during rehearsals.

“Sarah went to see the doctor today who diagnosed an upper respiratory tract infection,” they said.

“She’s been really pushing herself over the past three weeks, rehearsing solidly for the show and making sure her performance is perfect.

“Fans of Sarah will know that she is a true grafter and that she always pushes herself to the absolute limit, but it’s all caught up with her. She still has three months of nightly performances to get through, and she’s dead set on giving it her absolute all.”

Sarah faced embarrassment last year when she received similarly negative reviews for her guest stint in ‘Coronation Street’, with her acting branded “wooden”.

She later went on to appear in this year’s series of Channel 4’s winter sports show ‘The Jump’, but was forced to pull out when she suffered an injury.
