Greg Rutherford and his girlfriend Susie Verrill are clearly not bothered about Strictly Come Dancing’s dreaded show curse.
The Olympian long jumper has admitted his other half has encouraged him to be even sexier with dancer partner Natalie Lowe.
While many celebs have split up with their partner’s while competing on the BBC ballroom competition having grown close to their pro dancer, Greg has told The Mirror Susie is not bothered by the so-called curse.
“The thing she keeps saying to me is ‘When I watch you dance I want it to look really sexy’,” he said.
Greg previously told The Huffington Post UK he didn’t believe in the show curse, after it was rumoured this year’s contestants would receive counselling on how not to succumb to it.
“I don’t believe in curses or any of that sort of thing,” he said.
“If people want to have fun, which some people do, that’s entirely up to them. So it is what it is.”
Greg, who has a one-year-old son with Susie, got off to a flying start as the ‘Strictly’ live shows kicked off last week, racking up 27 out of a possible 40 for his first dance.
This week, he and Natalie will be dancing the Tango to ‘Jump’ by Van Halen.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ airs on Saturday (1 October) at 6.20pm on BBC One.
