Helen Skelton To Host 'Lorraine' After Olympics Presenting Success

Helen Skelton will stand in for Lorraine Kelly on her ITV daytime show next week, following her success as part of the Olympics presenting team.

The former ‘Blue Peter’ host, who fronted the swimming and diving coverage at the Rio games, will guest present the show for a week, while Lorraine is on holiday.

Helen said: “I’m so excited to be filling Lorraine Kelly’s shoes for the week, although they are pretty big shoes to fill! I’m looking forward to working with the team at ITV, chatting to the special guests and taking part in the cookery items.

“Also, as people may know, I’m a huge fan of fashion so I’m especially looking forward to hearing the latest fashion news and sharing the latest trends with viewers.”

Guests on next week’s show include Lady Gaga, James Arthur, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Jodie Kidd, and former ‘Coronation Street’ star Tracy Brabin on her move into politics.

Helen was at the centre of a media storm during the Olympics, when some viewers couldn’t handle the fact a woman had decided to wear a skirt.

It was later claimed she had landed a new “secret” project with the BBC, having also been a regular face on ‘Countryfile’.

Meanwhile, ‘Lorraine’ suffered an unfortunate moment earlier this week, when a clip of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant Ore Oduba was mistakenly shown during an interview with Patrick Robinson.
