A host of celebrities have been commiserating the result of the US election, after it was announced that Republican candidate Donald Trump will be the next President of the United States.
During his opponent, Hillary Clinton’s campaign, she won a legion of support from a number of famous people, with Katy Perry, Beyoncé and Madonna among the most notable.
However, since the news of Trump’s victory broke early this morning, many c famous people from both sides of the Atlantic have been expressing their disappointment and frustration at the result, with the always-outspoken Cher and JK Rowling among the first to voice their disapproval.
But, of course, not everybody was against Trump.
While they may have been few and far between, a handful of celebs were quick to congratulate the new POTUS, including former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemate Stephen Baldwin and *deep sigh* our very own Piers Morgan.
While plenty of celebrities endorsed Hillary Clinton in the lead-up to the election, Trump found himself on the end of barbed comments from several influential people after announcing his candidacy, including actor George Clooney, director Ron Howard and even fellow businessman Richard Branson.
Adele also reportedly prevented him from using her music at his Republican rallies, as did The Rolling Stones, though his first speech after the news of his victory was announced concluded with a blast of the group’s hit ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’.
Meanwhile the cast of ‘Will And Grace’ briefly reunited for a 10-minute mini-episode, during which the majority of the jokes were at his expense.
