Since winning ‘I’m A Celebrity’ earlier this month, Scarlett Moffatt has been heavily tipped to launch a career in TV presenting in 2017, and it seems she may have found her first high-profile gig.
Scarlett first rose to prominence on the Channel 4 show ‘Gogglebox’, and according to reports she’ll be staying there, to front its reboot of ‘Great British Bake Off’, when it moves to its new home next year.
A source told The Mirror: “Scarlett is now a serious contender – she opened a lot of eyes to her potential on 'I’m A Celebrity'.
However, it would appear that the TV offers are already starting to pile up for Scarlett, with fresh reports claiming that ITV daytime bosses are in a bidding war to secure her as a presenter.
An insider revealed to the Daily Star: “‘This Morning’ wants her for their popular showbiz slots alongside Rylan Clark-Neal and last year’s ‘I’m A Celeb’ runner-up Ferne McCann. They know Scarlett will be hilarious and a hit with viewers.
“‘Loose Women’ are desperate to bag an exclusive deal as they know their audiences will relate to Scarlett as she’s so down to earth.
“The show is going for a younger panel following the success of Katie Price and previous ‘Loose Woman’ and reality star Vicky Pattison.”
The Daily Star’s insider added: “It’s not often that daytime shows on the same channel battle to secure a presenter.”
It’s still not known whether Scarlett will be returning to ‘Gogglebox’ in the future, with conflicting reports about her future on the show emerging since her jungle victory.
She was also named the bookies' favourite, more or less as soon as Mel and Sue announced they were stepping down.
On Twitter, hers is the name we keep seeing crop up time and time again, either from people crying out for her to get the job, or pleading with Channel 4 not to give it to her.
In our opinion, it would be a bit too obvious, though, but we'd definitely be in favour of her forming a new double act with runner-up Tamal, with whom she got along like a house on fire in their days on 'GBBO'.
Like Nadiya, he too has managed to bag himself a career in TV, so we wouldn't be surprised if the offer fell at his feet either.
Julian is the undisputed king of innuendo, and his soft-spoken style lends itself perfectly to the 'Bake Off' tent.
He's also become a dab hand at light entertainment since his 'CBB' days, appearing on the panel of 'Your Face Sounds Familiar', as well as fronting 'Nature Nuts' and appearing on 'Give A Dog A Home'.
Hmmm.... maybe not.
Emma must be so stressed out interviewing the stars of 'Celebrity Big Brother' twice a year that we'd be quite happy for her to land a presenting gig that's a bit more... calming.
