Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Series 2, a new smartwatch with GPS tracking, superior waterproofing and a faster processor.
It was launched today at a special event in California alongside the much anticipated iPhone 7.
The Apple Watch 2 also features an updated operating system. New functionality includes an easier to navigate interface that should stop us from going all fingers and thumbs.
Larger icons and data displays help keep interactions with the Apple Watch short yet informative, while the addition of GPS means you’ll be able to take it running without needing to take your phone with you too.
The watch’s shell is swim proof. Apple submerged the watch in swimming simulators for days on end to ensure that it was watertight. The speaker is specifically engineered to eject water.
It also gets built in GPS so that joggers don’t need to take their phones with them to find how far they’ve travelled.
The first Apple Watch got an update too. Featuring the same processor in the Series 2, it’s been renamed Apple Watch Series 1 and the price has been slashed to £269.
