'Celebrity Big Brother': Past Housemates Speak Out Over 'Staged' Scene

'It's a tiny bit of staging...'

A host of ‘Big Brother’ contestants from years gone by have addressed a recent video, which appeared to suggest that one scene from the most recent series of ‘CBB’ had been staged.

During a live broadcast earlier this week, the ‘CBB’ finalists were shown getting into bed while Big Brother bid them “good night” on their final evening in the house, only for the lights to come back on a minute later and the group to go back to whatever they’d been up to beforehand.

However, while this has caused some fans to speculate the show was more staged than any of us had realised, several past housemates from recent years have now spoken up to insist that this is not the case.

Past finalist and HuffPost UK blogger Chris Wright was the first to share his thoughts, insisting it was a “tiny bit of staging” and “something nice for the last episode”, with others following suit on social media:

RE: The clip going round which appears to suggest Big Brother is scripted. We did similar on our last night. It's a tiny bit of staging 1/2

Something nice for the final episode, purely staged because it's impossible getting all housemates to go to bed at the same time. 2/2 #CBB

My thoughts on the fix claims because of the staged bedtime scene x pic.twitter.com/dyXYUNYGo2

think that clip is just a run through of clips they put together for the last ep, the same where they have them in the DR 1 last time @bbuk

I can honestly tell you that #bbuk is one of the only reality tv shows that is not scripted.

Trust me #bbuk is not scripted in the slightest, as much as they force certain situations everything is completely real life scenarios!

Similarly, when we asked a ‘CBB’ spokesperson about the clip, they explained: “Footage shown on the live feed involved Big Brother alerting housemates of a long final day ahead. The show is entirely authentic and the housemates are not scripted.”

Earlier in the series, ‘CBB’ bosses had already been blasted by some viewers, who accused them of unfairly skewing the edit in favour of Stephen Bear, by not showing the extent of his bad behaviour and leaving his various warnings out of the final edit.

Bear eventually went on to be crowned winner in this year’s live final, over runner-up Ricky Norwood.
