After the US won the Women’s World Cup following their dominant 2-0 win over the Netherlands in the final, Fox News went live to a bar in Lyon, France, where the game was taking place and fans were gathered.

The network probably wishes it hadn’t.

Reporter Greg Palkot’s broadcast was disrupted as one fan on camera started a loud “Fuck Trump” chant, which prompted others watching from the watering hole to do the same.

“We are here in a sport bar in Lyon, France,” Palkot begins. “Listen to what they’re s...” he continues before pausing and realising the chants were less than favourable to a president who has repeatedly found favour from the right-wing TV channel.

Unperturbed, he continued with his report.

Trump has been on collision course with the team, which has now won four World Cups.

Star player Megan Rapinoe’s comment that she was “not going to the fucking White House” went viral earlier this month, and clearly got under the president’s skin.

He taunted the 33-year-old midfielder on Twitter saying that “Megan should WIN first before she TALKS!”. Rapinoe scored in the final and won the award for the tournament’s best player.

At the time of writing, Trump had not tweeted about the victory.
