Christopher Biggins has revealed he plans to visit two Nazi concentration camps, after his removal from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house for making an anti-Semitic joke.
The entertainer, who was kicked off the Channel 5 reality series on Friday (5 August), will make a pilgrimage to the Plaszo Nazi German labour and concentration camp in Krakow, Poland, as well as nearby Auschwitz, where over one million Jewish people were killed during World War Two.
His trip will come after he made a controversial remark about concentration camps to Jewish housemate Katie Waissel while inside the ‘CBB’ house, which caused producers to eject him.
Speaking to The Sun, Biggins said: “I am going there. It will be my first time. I know it’s going to be horrible. I know it’s going to be ghastly. I know it’s going to be emotional.
He continued: “We’re going for five days in October. I’m really looking forward to it. Especially now after this incident.
Biggins previously claimed he was “mortified” be removed from ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, as he apologised for his comments in his first interview since leaving the house.
He also made a series of problematic comments about bisexual people, branding them “the worst type” and claiming they were responsible for the spread of AIDs, but later said he stood by them.
The mother of former ‘X Factor’ star Katie Waissel has now claimed that Biggins should be quizzed by police over his anti-Semitic joke.
She told The Mirror: “If his comments are as bad as we’re led to believe, they constitute a hate crime – police should be called in to investigate.
‘Celebrity Big Brother’ airs nightly on Channel 5.
