‘Coronation Street’ fans are still reeling from the shock death of Kylie Platt, but bosses are already planning to kill off another major character in a new stunt, according to reports.
It’s now being claimed that there’s another shock in store for ‘Corrie’ fans, when “carnage” breaks out in a future episode, claiming the life of another Weatherfield resident, in a huge explosion.
An insider tells The Sun: “This is going to be up there with some of the best scenes in ‘Corrie’ history. Characters are going to be crawling through flames to escape and there’s talk of killing at least one.”
If nothing else, this shows that newly-appointed ‘Corrie’ producer Kate Oates clearly means business, and she’s even said to be roping in esteemed director Tony Prescott to take charge of the episode.
Kate’s tenure at the helm of the ITV soap is already off to a great start, with Kylie’s shocking death last week providing some of the most memorable scenes in recent ‘Corrie’ history.
In the next week, viewers will see David Platt struggling to cope with the loss of his wife, particularly when it comes to arrangements for her funeral.
It was also recently announced that the soap would be going up to six episodes a week, from late next year.
