Les and Pam Coker are set to leave ‘EastEnders’, it has been announced, as bosses have reportedly decided not to renew Roger Sloman and Lin Blakley’s contracts.
The news was revealed on Friday (29 July) morning, with a show spokesperson stating: “We can confirm that Roger and Lin will be leaving ‘EastEnders’ later this year.
“They have been a pleasure to work with and we wish them all the best for the future.”
Their departure comes following a heartbreaking storyline, which has seen the death of their grandson Paul, who was played by Jonny Labey.
There’s no word yet on exactly when they’ll be leaving Albert Square for good but an insider has addressed their exit, telling the Mirror: “Pam and Les have been a big part of the show over the past few months and with their current storyline, bosses felt that it was the right time for their characters to leave the Square.
‘EastEnders’ recently gained a new executive producer, in the form of Sean O’Connor, following Dominic Treadwell-Collins’ exit.
This is the latest in a number of recent cast changes, as earlier this month, it was reported that a fan favourite - and renowned bad boy - might be making a comeback.
