‘EastEnders’ legend Peggy Mitchell will finally be laid to rest next week, as the residents of Walford gather for her funeral.
In emotional scenes to air on the BBC One soap on Monday (4 July), the Mitchell family are struggling to pull together as they prepare to say goodbye to their beloved mother.
When Sam (Danniella Westbrook) jets in from Portugal, they are shocked when she tells them that Grant (Ross Kemp) will not be joining them for Peggy’s send-off.
Meanwhile, Sharon grows increasingly worried about Phil (Steve McFadden), who is finding it hard to write his mother’s eulogy.
However, she soon has problems of her own when her aunt Margaret arrives to inform her that her father, Gavin is back, and has been acting strangely.
Sharon (Letitia Dean) sends her on her way, with her priorities lying with the Mitchells, but her decision will have grave consequences for one Walford resident...
It’s not long before Peggy’s funeral then gets underway, but with emotions high, will all go to plan?
Sam’s return to Walford will also prove to be a game-changer for Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), who is struggling to cope with having their son Richard back on the Square.
‘EastEnders’ airs these scenes from Monday (4 July) on BBC One.
