Clear your calendar for November - the new series of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ is almost upon us.
Although it doesn’t feel like five minutes since Lady Colin Campbell was calling Tony Hadley a “pretentious piece of shit” and Spencer Matthews was being shown the back door over alleged steroid misuse, a whole new crop of celebs are getting ready to head Down Under.
Given the success of the past few years, and the strength of the rumoured contestants, we think it’s going to be a vintage year for the reality show.
There’s still a short wait ahead, but if you’re as excited as we are, then you’ll want to read up on everything you need to know about the new series…
When does it start?
We’ll be getting our first instalment of jungle action on Sunday, 13 November, at 9pm on ITV. Let’s hope there’ll be at least one entrance as memorable as Gemma Collins’...
Who’s hosting?
Don’t worry, Ant and Dec aren’t going anywhere. They’ve hosted all 15 series of ‘I’m A Celeb’ so far, and they’ll be back to front the upcoming 16th one too. This year’s series will be the pair’s second in a three-year deal with ITV.
Who’s going in?
Oh, you know. The usual mix of upcoming stars and long-serving entertainers hoping to try something a little bit different. Broadcaster Danny Baker is reported to be earning the highest fee of this year’s contestants, with former ‘EastEnders’ actor Larry Lamb, reality star Jessica Wright, ex-‘Countdown’-presenter-turned-aviation-enthusiast Carol Vorderman and ‘Gogglebox’ fave Scarlett Moffatt all rumoured so far.
A few controversial figures have also cropped up in the list of alleged contestants, including polarising boxer Tyson Fury, former Ukip leader Nigel Farage and Olympic gymnast Louis Smith, who recently came under fire over a video in which he’s seen mocking Islam.
What Bushtucker Trials are planned?
Of course, Bushtucker Trials are one of the reasons viewers have been hooked on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ the past 15 series. So far, we don’t know what producers have up their sleeves, but rumours have suggested that there could be crocodile vagina on the menu for one unlucky celeb.
What about spin-off show, ‘Get Me Out Of Here NOW!’?
Well, the bad news is, it’s gone. But the good news is, in its place is a whole new show, ‘I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp’. This will air on ITV2, where it’ll be hosted by former champions Joe Swash, Stacey Solomon and Vicky Pattison, alongside comedian Chris Ramsey.
Haven’t you got anything to tide us over?
Go on then, here’s Ant and Dec having a laugh in this year’s trailer:
