Long before Mel and Sue were making jokes about floury baps, and Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were laughing about “whizzing it all over the kitchen”, Julian Clary was the king of innuendo.
So we were not surprised in the slightest that the comic decided to announce news of his marriage in typically saucy fashion.
Julian tied the knot with Ian Mackley on Saturday (19 November), and shared his happy news with fans by posting a picture of them signing the register on Twitter.
Except that wasn’t just it. Oh no.
He captioned the snap: “On Saturday he slipped his finger into my ring at last. #married.”
Julian and Ian have been dating for over 11 years, first getting together in 2005.
He shot to fame in the 80s, and hosted many late-night quiz shows, including ‘Sticky Moments’ and ‘Trick Or Treat’.
In recent years, he has appeared on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, finishing third during the 2004 series, as well as winning the 2012 summer series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
