A mother who gave up her son for adoption over 30 years ago is now trying for a baby with him, after the pair were reunited and fell in love.
Kim West, 51, was forced to give up her biological son Ben Ford for adoption just a week after he was born.
But after Ford, who was living in the US, sent his England-born mum a letter out of the blue in 2013, the pair began forming an unusual mother-son bond.
According to New Day, the pair have now been in a relationship for two years, plan to marry, and have an "incredible" sex life, thanks to 'Genetic Sexual Attraction' (GSA). The term is used for relatives who feel sexual attraction for each other after meeting as adults.
Two years before the pair's reunion, Ford, 32, had been married. The 32-year-old left wife Victoria to be with his mother.
Phone calls led to a meeting which left the pair, West said, feeling like they had "known each other for years".
The interior designer said she realised there was more to the reunion when she started having "sexy dreams" about her son.
Having read an article about GSA, West felt reassured, and met Ford at a hotel where they ordered alcohol, following by champagne, then had their first kiss.
Then, according to New Day, they had sex a number of times.
West said the intercourse was "incredible and mind-blowing", but was not incest.
She explained to New Day that the pair were "like peas in a pod and meant to be together".
Three days after the hotel meeting, Ford confessed to his wife, before flying to Michigan with West, where they sought advice from another GSA couple about starting a life together.
West told the newspaper that she knows people will find her relationship with Ford "disgusting", but said when you're "hit by a love so consuming" you can't refuse it.
She added: "It's a once in a lifetime chance and something Ben and I are not willing to walk away from."
